1. I still vaguely remember
a handsome young man occasionally calling on my father for sessions of tutorial
of some kind. That was in the early 1950s. I was four or five years old then.
2. I was not very certain
but I supposed my father was giving English lessons to the young man. On such
occasions, he would behave like a common teacher imparting his lessons the
chalk and talk way.
3. I was curious as to
who that young man was. Later I learned that he was the Raja Muda of Kedah.
4. My father passed away in
late 1956 when I was nine years old. I was at the cemetery to see the burial. I
still recall the Raja Muda was there to pay his last respects to his tutor …
